Messy Church

Messy Church

Easter Sunday, 3pm – Online!

Messy Church is our family programme designed for parents/carers with families of all ages. Its a jam packed 2 hours of activities, crafts, music, videos and fun. But that’s not all, it’s totally free and we’ll even provide your tea!

Pre booking isn’t required, you can just turn up on the day. But the best bit is that Messy Church is open to everyone. Yes that’s right, everyone! Messy Church is designed around families so children are invited to bring their parents/guardians etc to join in the fun (we’ll have plenty tea and coffee on supply for the adults!).

What’s it all about?

We’ve grown a massively successful Summer Holiday Club over the last 12 years with over 120 children attending in 2019. With such growth, we were always being asked about similar activities but we realise that time can be limited for families especially at weekends. So Messy Church is here to help!

Messy Church is specifically designed around families and provides a fun, relaxed format of activities to cater all ages. Each child should be accompanied with an adult for the duration but don’t worry, you won’t be bored!

There’s a choice of activities throughout the session and we’ll have plenty tea and coffee for you too!

What happens at Messy Church?

Too much to list here! We’ve had ceilidh’s, played giant jenga, painted a giant castle, went hunting for a lost sheep and had our own nativity to name just a few highlights!

Every Messy Church is packed with a mix of crafts, songs, videos, songs, games and challenges to keep everyone entertained! Our big focus is on crafts with usually 4-5 activities on offer during the first hour and Katie’s table is the place to be if you like glitter 😉
While the Hall is being changed over, we pop through to the Church to enjoy a mix of games, songs and videos while we find out more about this months theme.

Then it’s back to the Hall for dinner served by our amazing Catering Team. Yeah that’s right! Dinner is included at no cost so you can sit back and enjoy a tasty feast and desert (almost always involving ice cream)

So that’s fun, activities, crafts, music, stories, videos and loads more including dinner at no cost! What’s better than that!

When is the next Messy Church?

Due to the ongoing coronavirus situation, Messy Church is unable to meet at the Old Kirk this week.

But don’t worry, we’re proud to present…

Messy Church At Home!

Check our our Facebook, Twitter or Youtube on Sunday at 3pm where we’ll be posting a special video from the Messy Church Team. It’s Messy Church packed into one video so you’ll get music, challenges, craft ideas and a story to enjoy together with the family.

You can also get interactive by posting your pictures and videos on our Facebook page and joining in the chat with our Messy Church Families.

It’s a shame we can’t meet together at present but we hope you’ll join us online instead as we enjoy our usual Messy Church fun 🙂

I want to come to Messy Church! What do I do?

Pre booking isn’t required so come along on the day but please remember that each child must be accompanied by an adult for the whole session. Our entrance is via the reception on Church Road (next to the car park).

Upon arrival, you’ll be asked to complete a short registration form (this covers your child for all future Messy Church sessions – so if you completed one last time, you won’t need to again).  And that’s it! You can then join in the fun at Messy Church!
