About us

About us

For over 150 years, Bo’ness Old Kirk has been at the heart of life in Bo’ness.

While our current home has stood for over 125 years, our roots go back to at least the 12th century and our original home can still be found in the beautiful grounds of Kinneil House. Though a lot has changed in the world since then, we remain committed to sharing the good news of Christ and we offer a warm welcome to all.

We realise that it’s not easy to being a Christian today but we hope that the activities and fellowship which we offer will help strengthen and enlighten on us on what it means to follow Jesus. However, while some may view religious life as dull or boring we don’t agree!  Fellowship is the true heart of Christian life and is a key focus of what we do at the Old Kirk. You can find details of the groups which we provide a home to and all our events/activities on our website and Facebook page but everything we do comes with 1 promise – a warm welcome!

The Old Kirk also plays a proud part in the many events  which take place in Bo’ness. Just some of these include the towns Remembrance Sunday commemorations, Kinneil Band concerts, School Concerts and Kirking of the Queen services. We also offer outreach work including our involvement in Storehouse (a local foodback for anyone who needs it in the Bo’ness community) and an extremely popular Holiday Club which we run every year in the summer school holidays.

So it’s fair to say that there’s always something on at the Old Kirk! It’s impossible to fit everything we do on this one page but we hope our website gives you a flavour of life at the Old Kirk. However, if you would like any information then please get in touch.

We hope you enjoy finding out more about us and looking forward to welcoming you to the Old Kirk soon.
