New Year – Reflections

New Year – Reflections

The end of the year is almost here and what a year it’s been! So as we head into 2020, we want to give thanks for the last year.

With so many highlights, its impossible to list them all but a special congratulations again to Cafe Connect, our friendship group with Deanburn Primary School EPS, who won the Moderators Award at the Church of Scotland General Assembly. We had a wonderful day out with the children who stole the show at the assembly and who are a real credit to their school and Bo’ness.

In July, over 120 children attended Backpackers for our biggest Holiday Club yet and we were fully booked within half an hour! It was an incredible week and Amanda’s gondola singing was unforgettable! Details of our 2020 programme are coming soon…

We had social events including a Scottish Night ceilidh, Beetle Drives, a Fish and Chip Quiz Night and hugely successful Afternoon Teas. OKY, our youth group, welcomes 30-40 teenagers each week and our Messy Church programme has continued to grow with new families joining in the fun. We were also delighted to host concerts by, and grow our relationship with, Kinneil Band and NYCOS over the past year. Thanks again to our friends at Kinneil Band for providing the music at our Nativity and Christingle Services – you guys are amazing!

It’s takes many people to make all these things possible so to everyone who’s helped us this year THANK YOU! And a very special thanks to our amazing minister Amanda and our brilliant Session Clerk Diane who lead our team so well.

Last but not least, thanks to all you of you for your support this last year! We have a wonderful and supporting Church family so if you’ve visited the Old Kirk this year, or helped support us in any way then THANK YOU!
