At Bo’ness Old Kirk the motivation for all our Christian giving comes from our appreciation of God’s giving to us – especially His giving of Himself in the life and death of His Son, Jesus Christ (John 3:16). It is through the on-going giving of God’s people that we are able to continue to make a positive impact in this parish and beyond as we strive to make known the Good News of Jesus Christ to all people (Mark 16:15). Therefore our giving is a clear sign of our love for God and our commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Regular Christian Giving
Methods of regular giving are as follows:
a. Open Plate at Church Services
b. Freewill Offering Envelopes
c. Bank Standing Order.
Gift Aid
If you or your spouse pay UK income tax you may consider giving your offerings under the Gift Aid scheme. Please note that this costs you nothing above your nominal donation. Bo’ness Old Kirk benefits from Gift Aid donations as we are a charitable organisation and we can take your donation – which is money you’ve already paid tax on – and reclaim the basic rate tax from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) on its ‘gross’ equivalent – the amount before basic rate tax was deducted. This means, for example, a Gift Aid donation costing you £10 would be worth £12.50 to Bo’ness Old Kirk.
