has spoken to us through the Bible.
Our emphasis is on reading God’s Word,
preaching and prayer.
Everything we do
is for the greater glory of God

 

At Bo’ness Old Kirk our main activity takes place on Sunday morning and evening, as we meet together to worship God. Our worship comprises both traditional hymns and modern songs, and during our services a great deal of importance is attached to the reading and preaching of God’s Word.

Because God has spoken through the Bible, its message is relevant to the 21st century, and so the preaching attempts to relate the message of the Bible directly to contemporary issues, and so equip Christians to live out their faith in their homes and places of work and communities.

 

We recognise it is not easy to be a Christian today, and so our hope is that the services week by week will equip, enable and encourage us, as we get to know God, and our fellow-believers, more and more.

 

The other key time in the church week is the midweek meeting for Prayer. Further details about this can be had in church.

 

Each year we aim to host Christianity Explored (for people who would like to investigate the Christian faith) and Discipleship Explored (for Christians who would like to deepen their faith).
